marion county get togethers
i could care less if it can be done why in the hell would you do it with the car on
??? turn the car off, pull the plug off the the dizzy , pull a spark plug, put the tool in and crank the car like 6 7 time's check the compression . and repeat on the other cylinders

^^ because at high rpm your valve train might be lagging/leading and opening at the wrong time, that would lead to less compression on cylinders, when you do it without the engine running is just a base line to go from, and you can compare the efficency of each cylinder that way also. motor/pistons and rings at operating temp and running condition.
i cant believe nobody know the CORRECT way to check the compression on a vehicle.
1. take the fuel pump fuse off
2. take ALL the spark splugs off
3. crank the car while someone is holding the throttle body open.
JESUS!!!

"having a big turbo is like having a big dick; it's not immediately obvious to everyone, but you have to just rest assured that when it comes time to put it to use, you won't need to explain a whole lot afterwards"

that only shows when the cylinders are tdc, if the valves are not prop, seated but while its running with out taking the whole motor apart, you can tell if you have a poor timing belt/chain and slack in it, believe me there is a difference when the car is running, try it, and prove me wrong??
^^^ theres no need for a leak down test if u gonna go a compression. if air comes out of the throttle body, its the intake valve. if it comes out of the exhaust, its the exhaust valve. if it comes out of the pcv or the oil cap, its the rings.
if any of those things happen, you still gonna have to take the engine apart no matter what. compression says it all.
