Default Forum rules and guidelines - Updated 12.27.09

Please follow these guidlines when posting in this forum.
  • If you have an event to post, please include the location, date, time, directions, purpose and all relevant info needed for Members to be a part of it including cost to enter, if applicable. *The reference to Members in this rule means that all registered Members of TampaRacing.com are hereby included in the invitation to the event posted and that the event is one of a public nature. Any event that is not open to all registered Members of TampaRacing.com is thereby considered a private event and therefore the event is not allowed to be posted on TampaRacing.com without first consideration and approval by the Administrative Staff. If the “private” event is approved the registered Member holding the "private" event will be given instruction on how they can go about posting their event on TampaRacing.com.
  • Keep the discussion on the subject of the details of the meet as listed above and on general discussion of the meet including discussion of the meet ahead of time and discussion of what happened at the meet afterward. Off-topic posting and drama should be kept out of threads.
  • There will be no discussion of street racing or illegal activities. Take it to War Stories.
  • Older event threads will be locked after a few pages to reduce the confusion on what events are going on and when, and to prevent off-topic tangents. If your event is an ongoing event, start a new thread with updated info on the meet if your original thread is locked.

Rules

Recently we've noticed a HUGE increase in this kind of behavior and we will no longer tolerate it. If your becoming a pain and we need to deal with your actions, you'll get one warning and then a ban. Simple.

Things we will not tolerate:
•Racism*
•Threats of any kind.
•discussion of illegal activities including the use of illegal drugs
•negativity to wards the site or its members
•openly verbally attacking someone
•starting threads or posts for the purpose of increasing post count or creating drama
•being disruptive
•any other behavior detrimental to TR's image.
* too points in one 24hr period will result in added points for perma ban
*Racism means anything that is determined to be racist to wards any race, gender, religion, sexual preference, or creed; this includes the use of stereotypical and/or slang names. No use of the N word in any form of any kind. Period. Don't be creative, we'll see it and then we'll infraction you for it. Don't try to argue, debate or rationalize with us, here is the rule, you've now read it so now follow it.

Sigs - Sigs follow the same policy. See Sig rules below.

Its very simple. Use the site, talk about cars, network with other car people, goof off (within reason) and other stuff, but leave the negative/combative/abusive stuff OFF the board.

About posting articles

From this point forward, if you post an article, please do not copy and paste the entire article, instead only post the most prevailing segment or relevant portion of the article. Also, you must post a source link.

This is not only for our protection on copy written material, but for you as well. Please make a note of it. Mods are instructed to ensure this does not happen, and edit accordingly.

Strictly Enforced-NO NUDITY

There is no nudity allowed, that means nothing.

If you have any problems or question concerning any of the rules please feel free to contact any of the admin's.

Lastly, THINK before you post. Everything you post on the site is publicly viewable, think about that before you hit the post button.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Rep and Random Threads

No threads for the express purpose of building rep, its the same as random threads for increasing your post count and we dint allow that either.

The meaning for different colored names

Orange - Admins and Super Moderators
Green - Moderator
Blue - people who have donated to the site
Yellow - Advertisers

Signature rules

Our wish is that sigs be work safe, and of a respectable nature and size. This means
  • no immense animated images (limit of 250k on animations) ..
  • no large images (please keep them to under 500x350 total size.)
  • no images that are a violation of what will not be tolerated on TR (no racist, drug, etc.)
  • no advertising other forums in your sig.
  • you can do links to a business site if you have a TR Shop / are a vendor (or work for one who has that set up) and you cannot have a banner in your sig for your TR Shop unless you have an ad that runs at the top of TR. Speak to Zate about buying one.
  • no banners advertising businesses unless that business is currently running an ad at the top of TR.
  • no offensive sigs, be that non work safe, gore, racial or anything else that could be found offensive. (it means if you gotta ask for clarification on whether its work safe or in bad taste, generally you know the answer already)
  • No Porn, Hate, Or Racist Website Links or Images Allowed
  • You may have 1 image in your signature signature
  • IF You have any questions, feel free to PM any Administrator
The idea here is that we are a car site, one open to the public and one open to anyone, as such we need to make sure the impression we give is one of maturity and openness.

You may find that mods PM you letting you know your breaking these rules and ask you to correct it. Don't get mad at them, if you want to complain, PM a mod. If you find these rules are something you just absolutely cannot live with, PM a mod and we can discuss it, but we feel its in the best interest for TR as a whole.

Key Generators, Torrents, Illegal software copy/Downloads Rules:

Since there have been so many threads lately requesting pirated software, keygens, cdkeys, torrents etc..

Illegal activities and software downloads are not permitted here on TampaRacing/TampaForums. We are not a site for distributed software downloads, no bit torrent sites will be listed here, no key generators, or free, licensed software will be downloaded, exchanged or listed from this forum. It is against Copyright law for us to condone such behavior on our site. This is not the pirate bay, this is not oink. If you wish to download free software, free music or get a key generater for your latest leet-o 0day warez, you can do so at those sites. Keep it out of this forum.

How To Report A Problem

If you have a problem with a thread or a post, then there is a simply fix..

1. Hit the Report Button ""

2. Then "Fill in the box" with your problem(s) and or what you think should be done.

This will get the attention of the Moderators & Administrators and it should get you a resolution, or at least it will get the problem looked at for consideration and it will be handled as deemed fit by the staff here at Tampa Racing.

Hint: Making post about problems just waste time, space and can just cause more problems for all..

People it is really easy there is a "" report button on every page..

If you have a problem, then report it to the people that run the site and we'll try to fix it for you. The button is to be used for any problems that you come across and when you use it, we are shown the exact spot were you clicked the report button, and we see what you were looking at when you reported it.

If we all learn to use it "", then maybe some of the problems that we all complain about will get fixed...
