Default Thanks LHT.

I called john about a month ago to see if he had a stock d-series longblock for sale.

He did. I purchased it a few days later and just got around to installing it into the car. As promised, the engine runs great.

Here are two pics...

Before. (old motor)

After. (LHT's motor)

John, since you're a MPG expert...i have this question for you.

I'm running this setup...mainly because it was easiest.

HX longblock. DX wiring harness. DX intake manifold. DX exhaust manifold. DX intake. DX transmission. DX Ecu. I installed the harness to run on all DX components...no check engine lights, starts/runs/idles perfectly.

What kinda fuel mileage will i see? Remember, its an automatic. Also, in your opinion how much will the setup suffer from running an hx longblock with all dx components?

I did this only because i was unsure about the old motor...specifically the bottom end. However, I will swap heads (back to the original dx) if its necessary to get 4-5mpg better fuel economy.

And I still have my dsm...just need a clutch and it'll be back together.

Thats my next project.

Chet, I honestly don't know if it would be worth swapping heads. I can't see it making enough to warrant swapping .

I don't think I can ever get rid of the eclipse.

I have too much work into it...can't wait to get it back on the road.
