About Mustangs and Si's
Hey guys.. I know this site is dedicated to Honda and acura modifications.. I own one, but one wayward question would not hurt...
This is regarding a Mustang 2005 to 2008 GT vs a 2008 civic si. I know they are apples and oranges but at a catch price of $24,000 (I can get a 2007 mustang gt for that price) which one is best bang for the buck?
Forget about the muscle car thing, just decide for the sheer pleasure and pride of ownership, fun and driving pleasure... which one will you buy?
Pls consider also future modifications because I feel I am inclined to do that. I am not planning to race it on the race track but I want the car to have a character so that I can feel the power from time to time on the streets if the urge comes in.
Has anyone ever experienced driving both? what are your impressions?

This is just my opinion, but i would go for the Honda hands down. There is lots of potential and long term reliabilty plus is already handles and brakes well from the factory.
5 years down the road the Honda will still feel tight and run well plus hold it's value.
I'm not saying don't get a Mustang, but I wouldn't buy one for half the price of the Si.

I got different responses from people when it comes to mileage. Let's say I travel about 40 miles a day, would there be a great difference in savings between the mustang gt and honda civic si?
I have an 06 accord v6 right now, they say the civic si is faster.. is there anyone who can attest to that? ( i mean someone who has tried both cars)
thanks

I Would assume the si is faster but haven't driven both. Yes, the gas millage IS going to be very noticeable. 22+ is much better then 15ish.
I just re-read that and I have NO idea why I said that, I know very well the gt is faster
nvm I know why I said that, he was comparing a v6 accord to the SI, not the mustang gt. I think the si will be faster then the accord, but the GT is faster then both.
