had motor problems and i had no money so it sat outside for 3 months in the middle of summer and no one ever got in it. when i finally got it towed i went to put it in neutral and all the texture and shit stuck right to my hand. its not like melted and deformed. it just looks like shit now.

 

My car originally came with literally an 8-ball crammed onto the shifter...after a few weeks it wore out and spun.


But for the last couple years ive been using a knob I lathed myself from a piece of aluminum bar stock. Only problem is keeping it polished. Its also pretty light, which I like on my tall yet short throw shifter.

A friend of mine has made several from steel stock, trying to make them big and heavy..we put one on that we nicknamed "the beer can" and my damn shifter kept trying to pop INTO and out of gear when id hit bumps. it was seriously 3" tall.

ok when i got the car the threads on this shitty aluminum shift knob broke off... so instead og buying a new one i shoved a skateboard wheel on it and cranked a steel nut on there, which made its own threads in the aluminum! lol
