Default Tutorial: How to paint your rims

Ok, So I thought my car would look better with some black rims and I dont have the extra money to go out and buy some because im BROKE! So I have good tires on mine so I decided that im just gonna keep them and paint them BLACK! This is my 1st time painting rims so here it goes...

Materials:
120 & 220 Grit Sandpaper
Toilet Bowl Scrubber
Tooth Brush
Primer
Paint
Clearcoat
Masking Tape
Soap
TIME AND PATIENCE

Step One:
Clean the wheels!

Step Two:
Let them dry all the way and dry sand

Step Three:
Clean them AGAIN! And Start wet sanding... Use LOTS of water!

( Excuse my finger )

Step Four:
Wash them AGAIN! And let them fully dry and make sure there is no residue or dirt or anything on them.

So after they have been cleaned, sanded, cleaned, wet sanded, and cleaned again and have nothing on them its time for primer!

Step Five:
Tape off the tire.

Step Six:
Time for primer. Take your time and spray LIGHT and even coats. It took me 3 coats of primer to fully cover the rim... Take a 5 minute break in between coats of primer

Step Seven:
After the 3 coats of primer wait 10 minutes then start on your first coat of black... Again, Spray light even coats and take your time and DONT over coat the rim because it will run and not look good! So take as many coats as you want until they are fully covered... It took me like 4 coats of black.

After you are done with all your coats and your rim is fully covered in the color you want wait 30 minutes to make sure they are dry and time for clear coat!

Wait 10 minutes in between coats of the clear and use 2 medium coats because thats what protects it and gives it that nice shine!

So after that take off your tape and let dry over night to make sure they are completely dry! And here is your final result...

You did it all wrong...your not supposed to clean them at all, gives them a worn out appearance...and use the cheapest paint brush paint you can get...don't use rattle can because it will look too good. Just my 2 cents lol...good write up!
