Post H2d

Hey, I know theres not alot of people with the h22 h23 f20's. So it is hard to get input from people. And I have resulted to asking people for there input on the H2D kit from Bisimoto. The H2B is to pricey for me and plus the trannys are not cheap eather. So the D series kit caught my eye. The trannys are cheaper and I hear the teeth on the gears are more blunt and sturdy and can handle the power the H's put out. I much rather buy a nice LSD once and run a D-series tranny and if they take a dump, Just pull the LSD and buy another $100 tranny compaired to 4 or 5 for a nice B-series tranny. If I bought the H2D kit for around 800 NEW compared to the H2B kit witch we all know is pricey for a few tenths of a second in the 1/4. And the D's should knock off a few tenths too. I am trying to see if anyone has it or what people think of the H2D kit compared to the H2B. I seen a writeup awhile back with the H D B gear ratio compared and there really not that diffrent. But yet they are so the B and D's pull harded and are shorter geared. If anyone has any input please dont be shy. Looking to see if people think it is a junk idea or a good idea and plus save money.

Should i get the cheaper H2D and buy a rebuilt d series tranny and install a nice LSD or should I buy the pricey H2B with a pricey LSD tranny?. Realy I am looking for input on what people think. I have been reading alot on both of these kits and they both seem to be well worth it. Gear ratio's are both what i am looking for compared to the h's and f's. I am stuck between the too.

Don't waste your time with the d series transmission.

Because the internals are very weak...I've watched 3 of them just fall apart (internally that is lol)

now i've heard of the casing being weak but nothing about the gears and such falling apart. from comparisons that i've seen on HT the gears are a lil beefier than those of gears from b series. and no other issues from testimonials from friends of mine who run f2d for the past 30,xxx miles. one is boosted, one is sprayed and the other for DD with a lil torque. in all cases they have been abused.

^ +1

Ive seen more B series trannys go out then D series but most people put more stress on their B series trannys cuz most ppl who are all about gettin to 9k all the time arent runnin d series motors. Just my .02 here but most of the time unless someone has done a swap then your gonna find a healthy D series that hasnt really been abused. The B series motors are everywhere and a lot are LS/Vs or boosted. Since these B series motors put out more power then the little D series the trannys are gonna take on more stress which is gonna destroy them faster.

I personally have seen 3 d-series trannys break using a built d-series on the bottle. 2 broke from the 1st to 2nd shift and the last one failed on a 2nd to 3rd shift...he was driving the car the same way I have drove all of my b-series trannys. I have yet to have an issue with my transmissions. I've had them on spray, boosted, and n/a
