im getting ready to give my car a tune up on saturday and wanted to see what you guys were using. I usually go for the Mobil 1 10-40 full synthetic with a fram hog filter. I hear these filters are junk!
So what do you run? recommend?

 

i used to use on my ITR the mobil 1 filter with mobil 1 10w30 but those motors like to DRINK mobil one for some reason. but i never switched over, thats all i would use

 

drink the synthetic? if thats the case I have the reasoning and that means I probably should switch over.

 

i was thinking on your comment and its true! thats why i went with 10w40 because its a little thicker

i just think 5w20 wich is honda's recommended its to thick for these hot climates and all the vtec'ing. Im sure it'll be fine but i just dont the idea of thicker oil.

want something in between the two

 

5w20 is thin! I wont even run that in a single cylinder atv lol

 

I run Formula Shell 5w30 and Bosch filters.

 

Honda filter (Sometimes the Purolator PureOne) and Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5w-30.

 

did my tune up yesterday and went with Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w30 with Mobil 1 filter (awesome) it assures you have 9x the pressure needed on cold or dry starts! compared to some no name pos filter that was in there!

not to forget to mention the NGK Iridium IV spark plugs ftw

 

^yea i dont usually care tooo much about what filter i use because i do my oil changes every 3k so there for there is no need for an expensive ass oil filter if you do your maintenance on time. but i always use mobil1 full synt oil. Its weird how the ITR drank it but my K20 does not drink not even a little bit. Ive noticed everyone with an ITR has that problem with mobil1

 

I just used Castrol full synthetic 10w-30 and a HAMP oil filter. I'm a fan of Mobil 1 synthetic oil but the Castrol had like a blowout sale so theres like 50 quarts of it in my garage.
