I've been looking into getting one of these now that i've got some new cams and just discovered i've been running lean and detonating when it was stock (?!). I know that it's just a band-aid (before you even say it Keith... I'M POOR DAMN IT! LAY OFF!!) and i know all about the wonders of hondata, but i'm waiting to blow my load on that until after the block gets built. So, I heard that VAFCs suck more dick then mavrick's mom during fleet week at adding fuel, and i was wondering how in the hell i would be able to add fuel, given my engine is probably detonating right now (and it's not even running).

 

There is nothing wrong with a vafc. If you are runninglean and don't want to spend the money just bump up the rail pressure some.

 

well, at WOT it would detonate (combination of A/F guage very lean and sound of detonation coming from the damn engine) and the top of my pistons are cooked... i'm thinking the fuel filter is clogged, or maybe the injectors, i'll take care of that this week, but i guess i need to get an fpr if i want to add gas?

 

i use a fields controller and am just fine, it gives enough gas to almost bog my swap, hell it almost will shut off if you max the fuel out. i would suggest a new pump and regulator as well, it cant hurt especially if you have nice cams.

 

I preffer the fields vtec controller cause you also have the option of taking the speed governor off.
