Seatbelt Warranty?
My friend has problems with his seatbelt ('91 Integra LS). I know that there is a lifetime warranty on the manual seatbelts (I forgot what the law is), but he was told that there is no lifetime warranty(dealer) on the annoying automatic ones that are placed on top of the doors. Could someone here with more knowledge of these laws or whatever shed some light on this matter for me? I don't really trust dealers. Thanks.

i work for a honda dealer and for the most part the seatbelt and automatic motor assembly should be covered AFAIK. i have done quite a few repairs to accords(similar vintage as your friends 'teg) and they were covered. find another dealer if they don't want to cover it.

The reclinder mechanism doesn't move. If it's covered, I'm going to talk to the supervisor and if that doesn't work, I'll file a complaint on him to Honda of America. I just wanted to make sure that it's covered before I have a little conversation with the dealer. I really don't like to have dealers ripping people off, so I'll go to the same dealer and will try to get some results.

yes, it ALL has a lifetime warranty, even if it is the automatic one, because if you get in an accident and hurt yourself and he had refused to fix it, you can most likely sue the dealership/car manufacturer, but if you have modified it in any way other than factory he is not inclined to fix it (EX: 5point harness in the integ)

Its cover by warranty. We done a few tegs (that year) in the past month or so. It's common in fact. As Seekerone mention, all Honda/Acura are lifetime warranty.
I really don't know why they told you no, unless the person is new or doesn't know for sure.
