ive been smelling fuel from my exhaust and while im driving so i checked for leaks but i didnt see any leaks anywhere. i pulled plugs today and there is the black powdery stuff on the ends. im new to hondas and havent worked on a car for a little over 2 years so i was wondering what kind of things i can check or adjust to fix the problem of running so rich.

this is in a b16a 89 civic hatch.

 

Try to advance your timing. That might help. You can do that by loosening your dist. Move it an a counter clock wise direction (closer to the fire wall). Not a whole lot. Just about an 8th of an inch. Run around the block on that and see what the plugs look like.

you got both o2's or you just jump them?

 

i have one o2 on this shitty header..... i duno how it was hooked up i didnt do the swap.

 

1 is always the wrong way i have seen all running rich just makes it so much better to have 2 save gas money and will stop burning so hot just go to the junk yard and take one off any honda/integra-91

 

where will i place the second one? sorry this shit is new to me im learning.

 

so you got true stock B16a1 headers so im guessing your o2 is there right you have to have another Just b4 the Cat,all you need to do is get the o2 and take it to homedepot and get a NUT for it cut a hole in the pipe and weld the nut to the hole and screw in the o2

 

no i dont have the stock b16 header on the car i have an aftermarket chikara because the stock wouldnt fit up to my piping right....... i have a dc 4-1 sitting in my room waiting to be installed when i get money for new muffler and piping.

 

Hopefully this is'nt your DD, use the aftermarket header you have and wire 2 O2 sensors to it.

Maybe someone can post a HOW TO!.
Then run open header until you get Piping that fits correctly.
