question
has anyone ever done a obd 1 swap into an obd2 shell? i've got a 98 gsr shell and dropping in a 95 gsr swap. my question is what to do with the 2nd crank angle sensor in the block? is there any way to bypass that and if so, how would it or would it affect the performance? any help's appreciated, thanks.
Yeah you either need to swap in an obd2 oil pump and CKF sensor or run an obd2 to obd1 converter harness and ecu.

thanks KJ and kevin. i found out about the oil pump and sensor route yesterday and i think that's what i'm gonna do. do you guys know which route would be better and cheaper?
i have obd1 and obd2 ecu
have both ob1 and obd2 harness
and i can get a conversion piggyback from a friend
so with that info, which way do you think is cheaper? on a real tight budget right now. thanks again KJ and Kevin.

The best rout is using a harness. There are a lot more advantages such as chipped obd1 ecu's and far less codes to worry about. Also there would be alot more work to switch the oil pump and You would have to buy A obd2 oil pump, new oil pan gasget, oil pick up gasget and front main seal. RUN OBD2 HARNESS ON THE MOTOR + CONVESION HARNESS TO OBD 1 ECU.
Kevin- so you're saying it's better to use the obd2 harness on the motor+use the obd2 harness that's in the dash+run a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness to a obd1 ecu? i just wanted to make sure, thanks for your help.
