Cast Pistons and Compression
Is a compression of 11.75:1 safe on factory Honda cast pistons?

yes very safe. CTR pistons in 1.8L work out to be over 12.1:1 and they run great.

let me clarify, if it is tuned well then it is safe, bad tuning will blow even forged pistons.

Like KJ said, it's safe. Although, I have to add that forged pistons will last longer and provide a saftey barrier against detonation. Cast pistons will wear much faster, and have a lower melting point then forged. IF however, you do tune the motor properly, there's an excellent chance you will be fine.
