Default h22a vs. h22a4 differences??

obviously they are from different years, but my question is, is it possible to take a h22a4 sh model block and use an 1994 h22a (JDM) internals (crank, rods, pistons, journals, etc.) and the h22a head with out any problems...also why is it that people say the trannys aren't swappable aren't they typically the same scing both bolt to the h22 block??

i dont know very much about h-series motors but im pretty sure one of those blocks is solid deck and the other is sleeved. so knowing that im not sure if the coolant passages will line up from different heads.

you CAN use an h22a4 block with an h22a1 head...i am not sure if the a1 internals will work on the a4 block...i think it should...a1 is solod deck a4 is open deck(weaker)
