do the clutches in the kaaz diff wear out? i'm kind of leaning towards getting a quaife when my engine buildup is finished... seems like the best bet to me, not horribly agressive, and no wear parts...

Kazz is next up, clutch pack requires special fluid, and they tend to be rather noisy, but also very aggressive. For the serious driver.

Quaife is around 850, uses stock fluid, is quiet like stock, but not as aggressive as Kazz. Haven't seen one break yet.

How much would installation cost?

Only get a Kaaz if you are intending to road race the car. If you are into drag then get the Quaife. Yes the Kaaz can be rebuilt and reconfigured from a one way,1.5 way, or 2 way diff depending on the arrangement of the clutch packs.

ITR LSD is fine up to 300whp if the driver isn't an idiot.

you can find them for 350-400 on honda-tech all day...which makes the ITR LSD the best bet in my opinion...just remember the ITR lsd doesn't work with cable tranmissions (with the 92-93 gsr transmission being an exception) and it doesn't fit into a b16a transmission...ie y21 or s4c...so basically you are left with putting an ITR lsd into a gsr/R/LS transmission.

I have a S1 tranny that I am about to put in my car. What diff would fit? I heard that ITR diffs wont fit (like some of you said) cuz it is made for a hydro tranny. What is good, affordable, and reliable?

ITR diff will not work in an S1 as far as I know. A quaife is good and reliable, if you don't mind extra maintainence then the Kaaz is also good but I wouldn't run the Kaaz on a turbo car. The cusco is also a clutch type. Basically all the common aftermarket diffs that I know of are clutch types with the exception of the Quaife.
