brake cleaner works great for all sorta cleaning. But I think that using brake cleaner on that filter the o-ring can get eaten up from the cleaner its better to just spend $16 on a new filter that comes with the new o ring. Doing the right thing sucks so I would just spend the money.

He's right. At Crown Acura in Clearwater you could get the o ring with the filter on it for only $18. I got one the other day.

it would save you alot of hearache just to go and buy a new one for 17$ at discount, tried to replace my friends one day, we got it in there and he drove it about a good 50 miles and the rubber ring snapped and flew into the throttle body, wound up costing him about $150, we cleaned it with brake fluid and gas so it broke the rubber ring down too much
