hey i've been told the 96 del sol si and the 96 ex have the same engine harness....both have the d16y8 engine. but some guy i sold it to says its not the same now and its off the 92-95 engine.....whne i thoght 96 was the first year of the y8. a handful of peeps have said it was the same but he insists its not. if anyone is for sure let me know please. he says "the new civic 96-98 has different harness than all the cars there harness has pluggs on the end for the ecu this harness dont have that its has plug to plug up on both side on the engine bay the ex harness goes straight into the car it plugs up from the driver side then it goes inside the car to the passenger where the ecu is"

I'd bet they are different. I believe the 96 del sol engine harness is a two piece unit like the 92-95 ones but with the plugs for y8 sensors. The 96 civics engine harness is a one piece that runs all the way to the ecu.

Since it looks like you have a 96 del sol is there plugs on the passenger side shocktower that run down to the ecu? If so your car needs a two piece harness and not the one piece 96+ civic unit.

 

k, so do they sell that to go from the ecu to my harness?

 

Of course they sell that part of the harness and I have that part off a 96 Integra...Let me know if you need it and I'll send you all the harness I have...
