Question HELP ME PLEASE REPLY ((411))head work on 92 accord h22 head swap????

Hello everyone Today I purchased a H22A Prelude Head for my stock f22a6 1992 Honda accord. And I don't even know if it will fit? I have no ideal what to except as far a horsepower and performance form this install.
So if you have any knowledge of this topic please do drop me a line on what I should look fwd to it would greatly be appreciated.
I used to drive a 93 240sx with a few minor mods like intake exhaust and headers Will my 92 Honda take it w/head work done to it. As you can see I know very little about Honda engine work
so if u know of any additional costs I am looking at for installation
of the head that to would be greatly appreciated the head itself Comes with Vtec sillanoid, valves, springs and retains, but no cams.

won't work...you can't put the h22 head on the f22 block...you will have to buy either the h22/h23 block

good luck

I have never heard of anyone trying a swap like that, but I believe as Silver ac That it won't work. Going to have to buy an H22/H23, I would think you would be better going H22 though since that was the block it was made for. The H23 works, but I believe there is a lot of work involved. Also I am not a 100% sure about this some one correct me if I am wrong, but I think you would need to buy a tranny from a prelude also.
There used to be an engine swap guide on www.h22a.com
There is also an h22a swap into a 4th gen accord on www.h22a.org
Hope that helps a little.

i've seen it done, but it took over $2000 in modifying the head to fit.

The F22 has an 85mm bore, the H22 has an 87mm bore. the H22 head was welded up and the combustion chambers were recut for 85mm diameter. dowel pin locations had to be remachined, and they needed a custom head gasket.

on top of that, it required an external VTEC oiling line to feed the solenoid.

H series heads do not fit on F series blocks primarily due to bore diameter.

so, now that you know the facts, if you need a buyer for the head, i can get one for you if your price is realistic.
