Im looking at buying an automatic civic hatchback cuz I cant find manual thats any decent. its a 93 dx hatch.....my buddy has the manual that I can get from him I want to know what im getting myself into......if its really worth it.....?? lemme know......and if its worth it wut main things besides the trans do I need. thanks

 

On the 93 a 5spd motor won't mount in. You need to either cut the passenger side bracket from the framerail and weld in a manual one or I believe place racing makes a mount so you can bolt in a 5spd motor.

 

just get the manual and get like a tci 3000 stall converter it will work great probably beat half the guys that dont know how to shift out there hah but... if u wanna go with a manual get the gsr tranny good low end gears and a nice 5th gear

Don't do an automatic b-series swap, I've done one and I wouldn't recommend it. And the auto b-series motors don't bolt in either the passenger side framerail bracket needs to be fabricated, nothing needs welding but there is alot of shimming drilling, cutting and grinding. Fun Stuff.

 

no im not saying do a swap to an auto im saying he can work with the auto that is in there the d series.... :\ it is perfectly fine and it will save him about a grand at least... and he can work on the motor while he is driving around in his auto.... and then if he gets a new motor then he can get a tranny and he'll have a brand new tranny
