I installed a Skunk2 chipped P28 today using a Kenji harness into a 2000 Civic Si. For some reason the idle stays at 2500rpm and the check engine light is on. Anyone have a clue as to what is going on??? Also, To check the engine codes, since I'm using a P28 should I look at the codes for a P28 ECU or the stock Si ECU??? Thanks for all your help.

 

i did the same thing adjust the throttle cable and the screw might have to do it a couple of times before it gets right but should be easy

 

i have a kenji shipped p28 with the same program and i had to reduce fuel by 20% at idle just to make it idle, from what i understand it has alot more fuel and timing.....

 

1st off, the kenji p28 you have probably has a dohc 1.8L program on it that is running rich as hell like most of his programs do especially at the bottom end of the rpm span....

I recommend you resolve your Check Engine light issues by diagnosing them using a paper clip etc. The details are explained at http://phearable.net/tech under Troubleshooting

Once you resolve your codes & you still have problems, send the ecu to kenji & tell him what is going on. He will inspec the ecu & poissibly reprogram the rom chip for a 1.6L profile.

I have installed a kenji p28 into a friends 00 ebp. Only thing I did was tinker with his idle, besides that the car ran fine.
