not an LS motor in a crx, not any other motor in an LS body.

I do, i have a ls with 11:1 compression, crower 404's with full valvetrain, s2 manifold,afc,kenji ecu, and an 80 shot for shits and giggles.....all in an ls

if so what did you do all motor, and how high do you rev?
I haven't been to the dyno yet...but i ran down( as in caught up to and passed from a roll that he jumped on) a buddy of mines mustang that runs a 14.6 all day long...i've talk to a few people on other sites who have similar setups but with less compression and stock rev limits and they dynoed between 165-180 to the wheels with some serious torque #'s..my ecu stops at 8500 but it pulls hard all the way there, i wanted to be able to go to 9000 but kenji advised against it....either way a third gear at 110 is sufficient...my afc is at -15% at 1000rpm just to keep it from stalling..but i love it...having to pop ur hood because people don't believe its not vtec is priceless....

just wondering if anyone else was running an ls body with a built non-vtec in it.
i run 10.5 comp with the 403's, and recently went back to stock ecu, but before that red at 9k, usually shifting at 8500.
eventually i'll go back and get john to spin it, just to see, i was figuring on maybe 160.
the 404s are pretty big for cams, you prob got a whole in your tq, but they should be able to pull until about 7500-8k.
then again you prob don't need to worry about that on the bottle.
yeah, i loved running out to 8500 in 3rd, good for about 112, 116 with my drag radials. the best is 2nd tho, really noticeable when everyone else is shifting at like 60-62, i could stay on til 80. but no longer with stock ecu.

i wanna take it to the track soon but i'm breaking in a clutch so its gonna be a while...i was actuallly wondering what it should run ..i believe my whp should be somwhere between 230-240 on the bottle and i am shooting for low 13's or high 12's on radials..my biggest problem is traction, which is one of the reasons i don't wanna go to a gsr tranny..the vtec tranny would help all motor alot but on the bottle it would spin right into 3rd........
