Default B18a or B18b ???

I was wondering what is the difference between these two motors that makes the horsepower difference of 130 to 140.
And is it possible to convert a B18a into a B18b ?

-Thanks David-

(on board diagnostics) which is the type of ecu the car has/had in it

obd is less emmissions restrictive than obd 1 both ecu's can be chipped to raise the rev limiter and better the fuel curves but more applications are availble for obd 1

as long as you choose the correct distributor/injectors to match the computer you are using you will be ok. the motors are pretty much the same.

The B18B head also breaths slightly better ( i think from 93-94 the hp estimates went from like 137 to 142). If you plan on getting it ported then it doesn't matter though. Other than that I think they covered it all.
