posting this for a friend. he is throwing the code on his 1st gen b16 for the knock sensor. where is it located?? can anything be done or should it just be changed out?? thanks

 

Did he just get a swap ?

The knock sensor is located on the head (on 1st gen b16a ) betweens cylinders 1 and 2 right above the water hard water pipe. Its a 1 wire sensor only.

The reason I asked if he just got the swap was because that knock sensor wire needs to be added to the ecu in order for it to read it and not throw a code.

he just bought the car and it wa like that. so it may not be hooked up at all. ill tell him to check it out. thanks
