What are his plans?
How much money does he have?

Sir1 B16a a.k.a 1st Gen b16a which comes equipped w/ cable tranny.
Use a mount kit and shift linkage and some minor wiring and you are done.

You can always upgrade the bottom end to a 1.8 later on.

91 to 93 US GSR Engine 1.7L same goes with the above. This are more rare and usually pricier that's why I recommended the b16a first.
