My fuel pressure drops when I give it gas ... Please HELP!
Alright well I put a D16Z6 motor in my hatch and after driving it for a week or two, I noticed it keeps breaking up and doesn't have the power it use too. It began with a huge misfire so I bought a new Dist. Rotor and that solved the problem but then after running it for a day or two, It just got worse! So bad that I couldn't even drive down the street.
So I decided to call over Neal Sutton to see if he could figure it out. All he told me was that it was the fuel pump, as I figured it would be. So i replaced the fuel pump that day and it's still running like crap.
This is what's happending ... After letting the car get to it's operating tempeture I go to take it for a spin and after three or four minutes of driving the hatch, it doesn't misfire but it seems to me like it's starving for fuel, if I give it gas ... the car wants to stall and the rpms drop immediatley. MY fuel pressure is set to 36lbs and after the road test, I get back home and the fuel pressure is at 28lbs. When I give it throtal, the fuel pressure drops to 11lbs and the motor sounds like it wants to die but never does. And it pops out the intake when I have it full throtal and only pushing out 11lbs of fuel pressure
Please someone help me, I've already spent $500 and it's still running like shit! If I can't figure out this problem in the next week then I'm saying screw HONDA and I'll go to something else.
Thank you,
Alex H.

I had a W255 fuel pump in it but now I have a stock fuel pump in the tank.

It's irritating the piss out of me, I've been trying to figure this shit out for like two weeks! NO one knows how to fix it! I even replaced the fuel filter and that didn't fix shit! If someone out there is a real Honda enthusiast PLEASE tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it!

Alex, When I had this same problem this is what I did.
1. Loosened my gas cap to see if it was vapor lock
2. Made sure I had 12vdc to pump
3. Broke the fuel filter line and return to the tank and blew compressed air back to tank to make sure it was clear
4. In the end...fuel pressure regulator was indeed the problem!
