Default GSR Brake Installation on Civic Q and A

Aight here we go, I just got this.....

-GSR Front Control Arms, Calipers, and rotors
-GSR Rear Trailing Arms/rear disc brake assembly
-GSR master cylinder
-GSR Brake Booster

Now, I dont know anyone who has done the complete upgrade on a civic ex, but I was wondering if it is necessary to change out the brake booster and master cylinder. There is a noticeable size difference in the 2 but the Civic Si appears to be the same as the Civic EX. Any tips would be great.

No you don't have to change out the brake booster/MC but that's what makes the pedal feel and it will reduce pedal travel (which will increase with the swap). Instead of using the gsr mc, which requires flaring/bending, use the booster/mc fron an RS integra. It's only 15/16", not 1" like the gsr, but brake feel is largely improved and it's a direct bolt-on apparently, not bending or anything since it doesn't have abs. Or you can use a 90-91 civic ex MC and bolt it onto your existing booster. Bolts right up as well (also 15/16").

And you're gonna want an RS integra prop. valve too, otherwise, you're gonna be locking up different corners at different times. You need one made for front/rear discs. I think they're stamped with 4040 on them. Prop valves from abs cars won't work.

Bending the hardlines all depends on which civic gen you have and what gen teg the MC came off of.

Since you have the booster and prop valve already, I'd go ahead and install 'em. Pedal feel will be a lot nicer. I'd also suggest picking up some ATE superblue (makes flushing really easy and good fluid as well) and a flare wrench.

Sup guys, heres the update. I went ahead and dropped the rear trailing arms and installed the gsr rear arms. Also went ahead and had all the rotors cut (front and rear) and i installed the front control arms. All brake pads are new and everything is in and all lines bled. I have been adjusting to the feel of the gsr front and rear brakes and they feel great with the ex master cylinder. BTW i have a 2000 civic with a b16. I still think that I am going to have to change the 3030 prop valve considering i can tell that the front brakes are taking most the power until i finally apply full pedal pressure. I am also looking to find a master cylinder other than the gsr. The GSR set i got are all from a 97 integra. hit me up with some knowledge
