vtec head

Default vtec head

i got a 92 prelude si but wanna put a vtec head on it. i know i gotta get the head and a new ecu but im not sure of what else. help me out cuz i dont know what all i need to do and the parts i need to make the full switch to vtec.

I KNOW HOW TO DO IT
BUT are you the one that is going to to it
if not then I can install all of the mechanic parts
but as far as the wiring goes I know a friend that will
help me with that problem...ASE certified honda Tech

i dont know if i'd would do it or not but i need to know what all things i need to make the switch. make me a list of stuff i need and how much all of it will cost me.

The head bolts up fine. The block casting is identicle to the h22a vtec motor. This means you don't need an external oil line for vtec. The wiring is easy, just three wires. I'm not sure if the valve reliefs are deep/wide enough for the vtec valve throw. If the h23 intake valve head is the same diameter as the h22a vtec valve head then you should be fine with the stock pistons. Upgrading the pistons and rod bolts would be a good idea.


If it was me I would just swap a jdm h22a longblock instead of the headswap and then sell the h23 longblock. These setups don't seem to be as successful as lsvtecs.
