Default Need a honda certified mechanic to work on my 99 prelude **** overheating

I have a fully stock 99 Honda Prelude , 153k miles , and its constantly overheating at stoplights. Previously had this same problem and had a guy replace the fan relay, stopped overheating for a few months then the same problem started up again. I also need the AC checked, it keeps going in and out when the car overheats, maybe thats a manufacturer safety thing IDK.Anyways, hoping to find a honda tech who wants some SIDE WORK , not looking to pay high shop fees.PLEASE - HONDA CERTIFIED ONLY WITH CERTS IN HAND FOR THIS JOB. thnanks ! 727 645 9611 , call or text me rather than messaging. Needing this checked out ASAP !

change the thermostat? You cant expect to not pay a lot when you're asking for certified Honda mechanics, troubleshoot it like boostedracerdad said...jump your ecu!

So basically you want a HONDA CERTIFIED ONLY WITH CERTS IN HAND FOR THIS JOB to troubleshoot your car for next to nothing?? Anyone on here can troubleshoot the Radiator fan..
Fuse 47 must not be blown
Radiator fan relay must be good
Fan switch must be good
Fan motor must work
Coolant level full and properly bled
Take care of the overheating problem and your A/C compressor won't get so hot and keep tripping the high side pressure switch causing the cycling of A/C

All the above (except fuse) can be troubleshot with a jumper wire
@
But what do I know, I'm not CERTIFIED on HONDA, but I did stay in a Holiday Express last night.

I would trust your judgment over a random honda certified tech any day.....just sayin

I can recommend you to a honest mechanic who has low rate that pretty much only works on hondas if you want....he's Ford certified though

Overheating can be due to low coolant, air in the coolant system, damaged head gasket, bad thermostat, clogged radiator, bad fans, damaged water pump or any number of things that are difficult to troubleshoot without looking at the car. I'm willing to bet it's a combo of some of those I mentioned. The fact that your AC keeps cycling leads me to believe that this is fan related - I had a similar problem with one of my Civics.

Why the necessity for a certified tech? It's a 1999 Honda Prelude not a 2012 Ferrari 458. People with that level of experience don't troll around forums looking for piecemeal work. They either have their own shop or are employed (and handsomely paid) by a dealer somewhere. You're better off taking it to a shop that offers a warranty on their repairs - it should be a cheap and easy fix. Good luck man.

anyone know how to get a hold of them, or has a buddy whos a honda tech who would like to do side work.

im not asking for a handout or a free ride , im asking for a honda tech who will charge less than shop rates (shop have overhead) someone doing sidework does not. Thats business 101 ,
