Default B16 block

I have a few questions. Has anyone ever sent their block off to California? If so how much did it cost to have it sent to California? After talking to Golden Eagle I am thinking about sending my block to them but I want to know how much it will cost first. Also, are there any good machining shops here in Tampa that do resleeving? Thanks.

I talked with Golden Eagle and they said it shouldn't be more than $40.00 so I am guessing $40-$60

A Bare block does not weigh that much.
I know I can pick one up and move it around with no problem.

Well, I have heard from two people that it shouldn't be over $60.00 to ship to California. I hope they're not wrong =(

Another question I don't know of any machining shops that can resleeve (SS probably does). If you were in my situation would you pull the block, send it to Golden Eagle in California to be resleeved ($750 + about $60 S/H one way + $125 for the rods/pistons install) or find a machining shop in Tampa that you can trust, have them resleeve with Darton sleeves ($500 for the Darton's) and the other work involved (pistons and rods)? Confusing post
