Default 9:1 Compression VS 11:1 Compression TURBO BUILD Questions!

Building a b series for boost, cant decided weather i want to go with a 9:1 or 11:1 pistons. Kinda want to do a 11:1 because it would require less boost to reach my hp goal + it wont be so sluggish as a 9:1. But the setup is a 1.8L bored to 82mm, forged pistons and rods, all arp bolts, and a golden eagle block guard. Only trying to make 350-400. Also a proper breather setup will be there, tapped the block and valve cover to a catch can with a breather filter.

my buddy had a B18B1 bored,sleeved, forged internals, T3/T4 turbo,etc running pump gas (93) at 12.7:1 compression.. 277 @ 9psi, 550 @25... motor also handled a 250 shot of nitrous at 25psi safely

Wow, those are nice #s for pump gas. I would love to do that but stock sleeves for now.

I would do the 9:1 for a boost setup, yes I have heard good numbers laid down on high compression boost setups but, I couldn't imagine all the compression being to good,in the long run

was a good around the town car, 30 mile drives were good. he drove from Port Jeff, NY to Atco, NJ .. about 150 miles and ended up sucking the oil out of the motor. No motor damage but he got lucky.. that car had MANY tuning hours to get that motor set up.. i also agree, 9:1 would be fine.

I have had 8.5,9.1,10.1, and 12.5:1 all on boost... The 12.5 was the best!!! Although not ethical for a daily, I would say 11.1 is the best for a daily driven boosted car, on 93 pump and 14psi it will pin you to the seat. I'm on 9.1 again and I promise you the next engine I build will be 11.1 and aquamist hfs-3 kit

Pics of the 12.5:1 pistons I ran in my 4g63 powered awd civic.
