Bare metal. My engine bay was spray painted black. I stripped the entire bay with this stuff. It came off in secs. Burns like crap too. What can i use also to clean up whats left like there are alot of hard flakes and stuff left over from the stripper. paint thinner? I am not sure. I just need to wipe it down really good. Other then that it looks awsome! alot better then black and makes the engine bay look bigger. I wish i could show pictures cause it looks like what a car looks like when the metal begins to melt. Looked pretty werd to me anyways. please help.

bro, hears what you do, you need some soft steel wool, gloves , and some aircraft stripper. just scrup off the hard shit, and get all the paint off. then you can spray the bare metal with WD-40, but remember before you paint it you must, use some paint thinner to wash all of the WD40 off, otherwise your paint wont adhere to the surface being painted.

 

whats the wd40 do?

 

I assume it keeps the bare metal from rusting, although a good anti-rust primer would do the same.
