Need help with ek bumper!!!!

Wats up Tr check it out I got a ek 4 door and I wanna change the front bumper to a 2000 but idk if it will fit with out me changing the fendors hood and ect... So if anyone could help me out I just wanna find any other type of bumper that will fit on to a ek 4 door civic with no hassles basically I just wanna change the bumper and nothin else. Help me out please

96-98 Ek is your only option if you just want to change bumpers and nothing else

what exactly are you trying to do ? change a fucked up bumper ? or want a 2k front bumper ? if you want a 2k front end you need hood , headlights,fenders, bumper and grill ! because a 2k front bumper is not going to line up with a 96-98 front end or if you just want to change a messed up bumper it needs to be the same year (inside your door jam it should tell you)

Anyone have some front-on side by side pics that we could look at?
....to see what the differences in the bumpers are?

If all you are going for is a stock bumper swap, I would hit LKQ.
Sometimes they will print an interchange for you. Sometimes minor differences
can be mildly re-shaped. My stock-appearing bumper really isn't, but no one knws
that until now.

So I guess I measured it right and did it right.

Generally anything will fit anything, but some things require more trouble than others.

If you want a custom look, there needs to be some measuring done and I would go with
J.r.'s advice.-Bob

Regarding front lips, the Si comes standard with a front lip, but all other '99-'00 trims had this as an option too. '98 coupes had an option for a full lip kit too and '97-'98 models had the option for a black front under spoiler IIRC (have to verify in parts catalog).

Sedans for all model years have a chrome shell around the grille. Coupes and hatches have paint matched grille shells. The Si has a mesh insert, but the number of holes in the mesh is different than the number of holes on a CTR grille. The Si also has a removable center emblem in the grille.

Thanks for the pics.
Although one pic is shot from a higher angle and the other
appears wider, it gives me an idea at least. It is not a bolt-on fit
as someone already said.

The critical areas are the distance between the grill and the side of the
headlights. It's easier to remove material than to add it back in. I have a
way to do that, but then my concern becomes the alignment of the hood
crease at the side of the grill and the path it takes as the crease starts from the grill
and goes back toward the windshield. To overcome that I would make a custom grill
to fill the available opening.

Another area of concern would be as to whether the wheel well radius as
seen from the side can be made to match up from the metal fender as it
curves down to the plastic of the bumper.

It would be nice if we had the newer bumper cover so we could make some
templates and see how well the templates match and if it can be made to
work or not.

If it were my own car, I would buy the newer bumper cover that I wanted to
put on, and if my measurements showed that it would not look right, I would
just return the newer bumper cover and get my money refunded.

As for the bumper fitting the car, the lip on the bottom and the grill being
chromed or black is not a factor related to whether it fits or not.

Option two:
If a person considers swapping the items mentioned in post #5, as a unit, my concern
would be whether the rear curve of the new fenders and the front curve of the door
match up......as well as whether the wheel well openings are centered on the wheel centers.
....and is the car width the same on both cars or do I need to make brackets to compensate
for width differences.

Internally, under the new front end, my concern would be whether the new fender bolt holes
match the old fender bolt holes or would I need to make some brackets to make up the difference.
I would also carefully measure the position of hood hinges and bolt holes to determine if I needed
to make new hinges or re-drill the original hinges.

I would also check to see if the rubber bumpers/cushions under the new front hood edges
would be compatible with the original positions.-Bob
