help scraping or griding sound from my tranny

i just swapped my tranny out on my 95 civic with a d16 5 speed and now i have an odd grinding or more like a scraping sound. it only seems to make the sound in gear and i think only at lower rpms cant tell for sure over my exhaust. when its in neutral or the clutch is in i dont hear it but when i let the clutch all the way out in gears it does it realy bad for a split sec. i dont know the true story of the tranny i put in other than i was told it came out of a civic with 80000 miles but i have no proof so it could have been a bad deal. anyone have any ideas what to look for.

your input shaft bearing could be bad. if not it could be the main bearing in the transmission on the spline closest to the casing of trans. I forget the name of it. from the sounds of it I'd bet on it being the throwout/input shaft bearing g/l

try throwout bearing first.. usually fixes that..

+1 for the throwout bearing.....maybe cheapest to fix first.....
Other than that The tranny story....who knows?

How many miles were on the clutch, or did you go with new just in case?-Bob
