VTEC not engaging properly...
Not sure why, but tonight I noticed my VTEC light was flickering... I know for sure the wire is hooked up properly, and when VTEC is activated the light should be VERY bright, and solid. Ive had this in my car for about a year now, and Ive not seen something like this before. It was very dim, and flickered what looked to be once every second. This is a HILED so you can see it with direct sunlight very well. Something is very wrong here. Ive yet to check codes on the engine, Im too tired tonight. If anyone has some insight into this, lemme know.
Thanks.
JC
Thanks.

check your oil level after double checking your wire connections.

The point of the VTEC light was to insure it was working properly. That was the only idea I could come up with, so it let's me know if Im having any sort of problems like low oil. Or what ever the hell is going on.
My oil is fine. I checked the wire connection, there's only 1.

no, not just the light connection... fuck the light
can you hear the motor if it's going in and out of VTEC? does the motor seem to "stutter" at all? if not, then it's something to do with the light. maybe the LED connection in the instrument panel. if it's a cheap LED setup, the LED may not be matched for automotive voltage, and could be burning up.
now if something tells you that VTEC operation truly is becoming dysfunctional, follow below.
check the VTEC solenoid wiring all the way back to the ecu with an ohm meter... wiggle the wires around and check for a possible intermittent connection.
if that's all good, then remove the VTEC solenoid and check the filter screen. if it's clean, replace the solenoid.
the solenoid and VTEC oil pressure are both monitored by the ECU... if something truly is wrong, you should have gotten a fault code. if you need a new solenoid, refer to my sig.

Look, moron. Im fucking sick of you Tenacious. If the LED were broken it wouldn't work at all. None of this blinking dimly bullshit. It's a fucking LED. Once they're gone, they're gone. VTEC used to pull harder w/ the turbo. Now it doesn't. I do not hear it engaging either. If I thought it were just the light I wouldn't have fucking posted you cock sucking flaming bitch.
That is all.
