LS head bolts...rebuild??

Default LS head bolts...rebuild??

is it necessary to buy new head bolts when putting the ls motor back together??? or should i just use the old ones?? (the bolts that attach the head to the block)

agreed.
dont reuse unless u have to

headbolts are like almost 10 a piece at the dealership though.
so just go with some ARP headstuds, they are about 100-105$

head bolts stretch when installed properly, so reusing them seems like a bad idea to me, however it's been done countless times.

u can measure the stretch on the bolt or someshit to tell if its still ok
i have no clue exactly how to do it

most likely.
if they all came loose it wouldn't be a pretty picture, but I imagine usually just one or two get loose and the head gasket blows.

I reused them on my lsvtec once (I had no money) and everything was okay. I just retorqued them after a 1000 miles or so, lasted for over 2.5 years with no problems. I wouldn't reuse them more than once and then only if you have to.

motor had about 125k miles i think to be safe i should just get new ones...but they are damn expensive!
