Default Can I cut this to install intercooler

i have a jdm front teg that I'm putting a precision intercooler on. The intercooler hits the met bar circled in the pic. With the intercooler against the metal bar the bumper still hits the intercooler and I still need about two inches to have it line up. Can I cut the circled portion giving me the clearance I need with out cutting my bumper. Does this give structural strength at all or is it just for hood latch. If I need some brace would a horizontal brace welded in suffice lmk educated people

You will hv hood issues by cutting that support. The latch area will become flimsy.

So even if I welded a piece side to side behind the bumper support? Bad idea or should I jus cut into the bumper?

Yes you can reenforce the support. I was just saying if u just cut it and leave it cut you will have flex at the latch and will cause hood issues. Im sure the last thing you want is your hood to fly up after you turbo it just bc u didnt want to cut the bumper

Id cut the bumper and be done with it...
