Honda Tach off????
Ok heres the deal I have an eg coupe that had a blown jdm d15b in it. I sourced a d16y7 bottom end and used the d15b head, but the only headgasket i had laying around was a high comp head gaskget (.0014) so the static ratio is around 10.3-10.5 ish. it doesnt have any of the plastic timing covers so i cant exactly put it in correct time, but i have to to where it runs good. I know the gear will be around a tooth off but when winding it out it feels like its either hitting fuel cut at 6,500 or the tach might be off. once it hits 6500 it hits a wall, sort of like its hitting rev limiter.
any ideas?
was thinking if timing was way off, could it cause the tach to be off? or maybe the tach is just off..... i dont know if it was before i got it cause i bought it when it wasnt running so i dont know if the tach was off from the beginning.

It's hitting the actual rev limiter.
