Default Help!!!

I have a 1996 civic LX, that had a bad head gasket. I changed it, and now i get a check engine light with the codes 8 and 20... which are TDC (top dead center) and ELD (electric load) any ideas? when I took off the head, I left it in "time". I will check it again in the morning to make sure it is still in time. It runs but smokes.

yes it is factory, it has never been worked on. Does that make a difference? This is the first time I have ever even seen the ELD code even thrown!

Thanks BoostedRacerDad, gonna check there first right after work... I did remove that bracket and put it back on, that might be the problem with the ELD, anyone have anything why it would throw the TDC code? I thought it was built into the Dizzy, but the car was running fine before head gasket was removed. Even if it was a little od Top dead center on the block, i didnt think it would throw that code.

Recheck your timing.
I think one of the pins in the connector has slid back on dizzy or wiring from those pins 3 and 7 to ECU is open.
Do this first:

Check with a ohmmeter between 3 and 7. It should read between 350-700 ohms. If it doesn't try another dizzy as this isn't worth fixing the old one, (but keep old one for spare parts. coil, ignitor)
If the Ohm value is GOOD trace 2 wires to ECU and make sure they are not open. If you need pinout LMK

Ok so i put a new dizzy on and it works flawlessly. as far the the ELD, the wiring was pinned between the bracket on the intake manifold. i took out the bracket, and electrical taped the wire, and bingo everything works great again! Thanxs all for the help.
