yeah, after analyzing your setup lisa i have two goals in mind.

1. to have an airbox just like you.
2. to gain 40lbs

Iv had ram air for quit some time now but mine dosnt have to remove anything it pulls from the bummper....I have a 93 civic coupe its a nice box but you could have done it for much less mine with piping cost around $60 with filter and pulls quit well but like I said its a nice box and looks better than my setup

ramair is only effective at a specific velocity the opening is designed for... below that speed, it's not "ramming", and above that speed, air is being diverted away due to resistance and aerodynamics.

basically, your motor is only going to take in as much air as it can, and the only way to increase the volume of air going in is with forced induction.

as you become faster, you'll need redesigns to the funnel system to increase the amount of air you'll be able to "ram" in.

lastly, this is why you see very few NA ramair motors... WS-6 TransAm. all other ram air designs out on the street now combine forced induction with it.

by removing my headlight its just allowing my intake to ingest colder air...not necessarily ram air in the same sense as WS-6.

i got the idea from neal's red crx, after seeing it run consistent 12.2's in 95 degree heat.

i figured if it worked for him, a similar design would work with my car...
