Default Hondata

I know this sounds stupid but will a Hondata ODB0 ECU control the DPI FI system in the 88-91 DX/LX civics or is it only compatible with MPI?

Also, in a DPI or MPI FI how important is the placement of the TB and MAP in relation to the actual injectors. And how close does the O2 sensor need to be to the engine. I am wondering the possiblities of retrofiting a Honda FI/ECU system onto another engine.

Hondata and factory honda fuel system (up to 150HP for app I was considering) is about $500 for the ECU and factory honda parts to retrofit. AEM is $1200 + all the aftermarket fuel system stuff and the Hondata will give me all the tuning I need, much better than the carb that is currently in use.
