Default gut my cat?

question, i have a 99 si and im wondering if i should gut my cat. i will be installing a trm cat back saturday. my only other mod is an intake. is it worth the work? will i have o2 sensor issues? im not trying to make a big difference in performance, however when i install the header it seems i would have better flow w/a hollow cat. any help would be great.

thanx guys (and gurlz),

happy racing,

jay

thats what i was planning on using... one of my friends asked , " why dont you just light the inner on fire,,, let it burn out. then when you break the shit out it will be easier on you and the drill.?" ............ sounds crazy to me.

believe me, i did not plan on torching my poor cat.... its bad enough it will have to go through surgery, much less, fire. i wouldnt want to replace the cat after torching it only to find out that it reported the latest pyro activities to my motor. my motor might retaliate. u must pet the motor, caress the motor, looovvve, the motor. b16s' deserve a great owner..

Default cat

unless, you plan on driving at about 8,000 rpms all the time its not really worth it, you will lose bottom end power due to lack of cylinder scavenge. i did a couple of cats on my vehicles and it only helped on the turbo crx. i used a pipe, like a bicycle seat post, and just hammered it thru the brick a couple times, and the rest fell out. but hey its worth a try right?
