Default my car. always stays cold need help.

Have a single cam with y8 head if it matters, when first got it the car would never warm up at all, after drivin on the highway for a little it warmed up a tad bit but no where near normal temp.

Then noticed the car has no thermostat and the air temp sensor was bad replaced both because it was throwing a code for the air temp no code now but still will not get warm. At all.

Could it be the temp sensor even tho its not throwing a code? Any suggestions would be apprecite it

I actually disconnected the temp sensor from the harness and it does throw a code, so im guessing its working. put a new thermostat still wont get warm, i checked the cluster and everything is connected, so i am clueless

temp sensor for the gauge is a single wire sensor..The 2 wire temp sensor will throw a code.
