unfortunately the right size drill bit will cost you $20
you can get a tap and plug pretty cheap, just don't forget to use teflon tape on the plug.
I've done it a couple of times. Works great. Actually my motor was a 1g b16a head on an ls block, ran strong for over 2 years.
