well i know the vtec wont work if the vss is broken. and if the vtec engagement point has been set lower then that could be the problem bc the ecu isnt reading the sensor, it wont let it rev past the engagement point bc it will harm the motor.

if ur mph gauge isnt working and it was before most likely ur vss is bad and vtec wont engage if that doesnt work! try wiring up ur 2step to a switch and turnin it off and see if it still doesnt go past 4200, thats the only thing i can see the reason of it not going past 4200, it couldve been chipped wrong.. any cel's???

well if u dont have a cel for vss try getting the right maps for the ecu to run that motor, but still wire up the 2step to a switch and turn it off cuz that happened to a homeboy of mine, his 2step was set at 3k and it would rev past 3k and took it back to the chipper and got it fixed soo u never know! im not sure how to wire the 2step up to a switch but i know its possible
