B18B1 mild rebuild
So i've got an '01 integra LS with 138k miles on it and was starting to think of possibly rebuilding it. I found this kit on ebay and was wondering if it would be a decent deal?

an oem oil pump alone is over half what that entire kit cost.....that just showing the quility of there product. oil/water pumps, timing belts i honestly wont cheap out on bc they can all cause major engine damage if they fail. if you gonna rebuild cheap isnt the way to do it. those gaskets are cheap and flimsy(sp?). they dont seal properly. the bearings are cheap. everything about that kit is cheap. if you want soemthing with lower milage go buy a b20 from jdmtech in orlando(idk where in tampa has jdm engines). it will end up costing me in the long run if you rebuild cheaply.

oil pumps are the same as napa napa buys in bulk from china i know cause i use the same suppler for regs
never had a issue with the pistons as there either ycp or npr
no issue with the rings either
99% of this kit you can get from autozone/napa/carquest for double the price in a diffrent box but still the same parts

the things i would not use out of thos kits are the timing belts/bearings/or the headgasket...but if your only rebuilding its cheaper to buy the stuff you need sept. cause you dont need the pistons unless your going with larger ones when you bore the cyl walls out for the rebuild ...

Thanks for the input guys. Car still runs perfectly, no smoking, knocks, ticks, oil leaks or anything.. So, to be honest there really isnt any critical need for a rebuild. I just thought it might be a good idea in terms of reliability due to my future plans of turboing it. I figured this kit was cheap parts, but the price just kinda surprised me so i figured i'd look into it.
If I was you I would buy OEM oil pump, water pump and head gasket. I have bought pistons, rings and bearings from them before and have no problem what so eva. If you wanna go turbo I would go with forged internals so that you will never have to open the engine up again.

The piston rings will only last you to like 80,000 miles bro. And those barings need to go in the garbage. Buy the bearings at Honda. The best bearings you can buy. Well all the best parts come from there lol.
