Default Can B's run as high comp as D's on pump gas?

I know quite a few people have done D-series n/a builds with 13:1+ compression on pump gas. And that you can run 12:1 pretty safely with 93octane. But what about b-series engines, can you run 12-13:1+ compression on pump gas with those engines?

Why or why not?
I've also read that the small bore of the d's makes it so you can run more compression and stuff. Why?

13:1 compression on any of those will be setting your self up for failure sooner or later on a street driven pump gas. Gas around here is too inconsistent to trust with a setup like that in mind imo. Either way you are comparing apples to oranges. b sereis will make a shit lot more power than a dseries. No need to go 13 cr on a b series for a nice quick street setup. Tuning and supporting parts will get you that. whats the power goal?

No power goal, per say. Just toying with build ideas (for now).

Just read the Endyn/HT article on their 300whp B20/VTEC build.
Wouldn't go for 300whp. Maybe 250whp, I'd like to keep it civil for the streets.

Currently, I'm debating a mild B20/VTEC build (250whp) vs. a mild Turbo D16 (350whp).

Good lord 300whp NA b series??? Mind you if that is posible it would not be street friendly

I thought the most these things have put out all motor was around 230 engine hp.

Thats a lot of power, and the money it takes to make that NA just aint worth it, save money and be more reliable and go boost.

Here's part one of the build:
Endyn B20 Build - Tech - Honda Tuning Magazine

TOO Video Link:
http://theoldone.com/articles/Dyno/dyno.html

Another TOO 2.0L B-Build:
The Old One - Energy Dynamics

I'll post part two once I find/read it.
Yes, it's an ENDYN built motor. Even copying the build exactly won't make 300whp.
But 250whp in a beastly B20 can't be that hard (not to mention it'll be cheaper than the above build).
220whp has been made on CTR cams on a fairly basic B20/VTEC build.
