Cylinder wall trouble...

Kinda sick so bare with me.
#2 and #3 pistons are "chipped" for lack of a better term. There are deposits of I guess piston chunks on the top of the cyl wall... Im wondering how I can get these out with out having to bore out the wall .010 or so over... I would also not like to take this to a shop, can I just use a honing tool to get the deposits off? I scratched some of it off with my nail.. so it's not infused with the wall or anything... **help**
>> Perhaps a light sand paper on the area? Before I hone it out?

If the metal chips are are imbedded into the cylinder wall, a honing isn't going to clean up the deep grooving resulting from that. A slight overbore would be needed. Honing is used to construct a surface that helps the rings set.
