so heres my car 91 civic std
d15 motor tranny
pgfi
obd1 ecu and dizzy
so i just got the motor in and it want pass 4000 rpms its on a p06 with a d15 dizzy bolted to the head
basically stock motor just pgfi and obd1

whats usually the cause of this?

try to see what codes it throwing if it is throwing any when its like that it means the ecu in in limp mode its throwing an important code my car would do that when my injector plug would get loose so check all ur main connections like injectors dizzy maybe somthing is bad or there is a bad conection somewhere

 

You need the codes to figure this one out.
Did you drive the car? 3500rshared_pm is limp, 4000rshared_pm sounds like launch control. post codes

iu dont drive it basicaaly i bought it and its been this way even before the new motor

 

check all wiring 2-3 times even if u swear u know u plugged em in tight/correctly, al grounds and is it the same ecu as before the new engine?
