shift linkage

Default shift linkage

ok i popped off the retainer clip where the linkage connects to the tranny, but i cant seem to get the pin to budge at all...what am i doing wrong here? its a 90 std tranny that im pulling the linkage from, if theres a difference...

get a bigger hammer and don't be afraid to really lay into it(don't miss though). You might also want to try some pb spray. If you still can't get it find someone with an air hammer and appropriate sized punch bit. I have in my time probably removed over 50 linkage pins and the hammer and spray has worked every time. Take one of the bolts holding your A/C compressor (assuming you have A/C) to it's mount, and use it in combination with a 5lb sledge. Even if it doesn't look like the pin is moving, it is, it just takes a lot of effort. Worked for me.

nah, we couldnt get monogonaherpacyphalitis to fit on the back windshield, so we named her Chlamydia
