225whp is what people say is safe and reliable on a stock d16y8/z6 so why build?

didnt this kid have a similar thread like a month ago about building a super sweet single cam?

So you have something against people researching things before they throw money away?

Most builds don't make the kind of TQ I would want to be making.
And certainly not as much through the entire rshared_pm range.

Anyways, back to the original question. Will Vitaras stand up to high-comp abuse?

Well you are building a single cam, so you're throwing money away no matter what you decide to do to it

Even on boost/nitrous. anything above ~300whp and your precious ls is a ticking time bomb

I guess I was wrong, I always thought that was their safe threshold, maybe I mixed it up with gsr?

Only had one boosted LS and I bought it boosted lol.

A customer of ours lasted 2yrs at ~350whp on Stock LS pan to cover. It puked its guts at ~404whp on the dyno.

Totally agree that any stock engine above 300whp is a ticking timebomb. Its only a matter of time...

Honda rods are weak.

I'm really surprised those shitty ls rods/rod bolts held together at 400whp
